About Vivida
Specifically, the company provides personal assistants for disabled persons who qualify to have personal assistance as determined by the Swedish state and regulated by Swedish law:
"Personlig assistans enligt Lag (1993:387) om stöd och service till vissa funktionshindrade (LSS) och assistansersättning enligt Lag (1993:389) om assistansersättning (LASS)"
What is personal assistance?
The law regulating personal assistance came into effect in 1994. It offers persons with substantial and lifelong disabilities a new opportunity to participate in society. This law provides help to disabled people in the form of a personal assistant.
The Swedish state grants, after an assessment, a certain number of hours per week during which the disabled person is entitled to have a personal assistant. The number of hours allotted should reflect the patient´s need of care.
Who can get personal assistance?
The requirement is an established diagnosis that has led to a substantial and lifelong disability. The applicant is required to verify his or her health status with authentic documentation. Upon receiving an application the state is obliged to commence its evaluation. It is important to note that the burden of proof is on the applicant and not on the state, thus it is critically important to support your application with proper documentation. One cannot apply after 65 years of age; one does however get to keep the personal assistance after turning 65 provided it was applied for on or before this date.
